Her legal career began in Nassau County, New York as an Assistant District Attorney. She then practiced for several years as a litigator and attorney-advisor for two federal agencies developing expertise in energy law.
Ms. Hooks is a graduate of the University of Maryland where she majored in marketing. Her legal education began at the University of Nebraska School of Law where she completed her first-year studies on a full scholarship and stipend. She returned home to her beloved Washington D.C. to complete her legal education at the Howard University School of Law graduating with honors and finishing third in her class. Previously, Marcia was employed at a well-established, local estate planning firm where in addition to advising a diverse clientele she developed her skills in the services she now offers at the Hooks' law firm.
Marcia, a native Washingtonian, developed a passion for serving others early in life. Her passion informed by her faith has endured through the years and finds expression in service as a Sunday school teacher and board member for scholastic and charitable organizations. Frederick and Marcia, who both enjoy the stewardship of the youth ministry at church, have been married for twenty-five years.
